Crypto is the only real reason you listed. The rest can be adjusted. My main issue sign Sierra is their language. Ninja gives me full power of c# for my Algos. Order handling for large size is amazing. Plus great support. Ninja has too many amazing features to list here
Can you please elaborate on Ninja 8. I grudgily think about all the code I would need to rewrite to go from 7 to 8.
I have only dabbled in NT8 a couple of times, but could NOT stand the interface as an end-user after being so used to NT7 for so many years. On the coding side I have no experience. I can only relay what a programmer I knew had mentioned about trying to convert old NT7 super-customized indicator code to NT8..."It is a challenge". It is right to think grudgingly about it. But at this point in time, I think that you should focus on programming NT8 from it's native script language code base rather than trying to convert from NT7, if you wish to still consider as the platform of choice. NT7's life-cycle is winding down.
Indeed you can, and I prefer black charts (with afterhours highlighted - not available though on NT ) however I like hollow candlesticks and NinjaTrader doesn't offer them (I did find a solution, there is a ninjatrader add-on available for only $30!) Yes, $1000 for the lifetime licence but no hollow candlesticks. So you're forced to use candlesticks that are completely filled in and you have place borders around them to make them visible which leads to more eyestrain and there is no option to make the candlestick wick the same color as the candlestick body (red for down and green for up.) Which all leads to some of the most unaesthetic looking candlesticks I've ever seen which look particularly bad when zoomed out. And again, they cause eyestrain (for me at least). As far as zoom-in/zoom-out functionality, I feel it's unnecessarily convoluted (there is a solution though for only $80 you can buy the smart zoom indicator).
Hi Ray, Great addition!!!! Is it possible for you to elaborate how long will NT7 life cycle will continue? I do have a massive task in front of me to rewrite tons of code. Thanks, redduke
For many more years to come...We have not identified EOL date nor plans to sunset it. That being said, we of course are no developing new features in NT7.
