  1. This is the time for Trump to break them. To force them to bend the fucking knee.

I think we now know why Trump said he trusts these guys and will agree to whatever they do.
This is how Trump will turn on his base. He will say he had to do it to avoid/end govt shutdown.

    Trump will be toast.

Whoa - you are trusting some of the worst people in the world. Are you located on the Death Star? Lol.

My question is why hasn’t Mitch McConnell put something on the senate floor? Not for nothing without a bill to vote on you can’t blame the democrats.

You’re dreaming. The republicans suck at governing. Everyday they wake up and have no idea what to do or what they stand for. They live in fear of tweets from Trump and walk on eggshells.

The democrats don’t have that problem.

There was a pundit down here in North Carolina who told it the way it was from his perspective -- "Generally the Democrats have great ideas but are terrible at execution; the Republicans generally have terrible ideas but are great at execution."

When you think about this it has a ring of truth to it.

Trump is a wildcard wrench thrown into the entire system.

  6. Well I pretty much agree with that, but Trump did promise us a lot of winning. So far there hasn't been much. Now his base sees some low hanging fruit, eg congressional democrats, and they expect results. They don't care about compromises. They want blood and aren't going to be satisfied with less. Government workers in the DC area vote 90% democrat. Why should Trump give a crap if they have to swallow a few paychecks?

The best the Trump base can get right now is a down payment on a wall that will never be built for DACA. Otherwise they can suck lemons and watch the endless news cycles about how Trump can’t get the government to work under his leadership.

  8. OK, I'll take the lemons. Adios DACA.

The compromise I could accept is a provisional status in which they get most of the benefits of being allowed to stay here but they do not get voting status.

Why is this a binary choice? Lets let them stay but they do have to be full citizens. Obama did this to them with extra constitutional behavior. Lets not reward bad presidential behavior without punishing them too much.

I hear you on that but in the here and now what is really going in DC? We really should not be funding the government by consecutive 30 day CRs. The immigration issue has to be dealt with and so does CHIP. I’m starting to think the democrats are doing the republicans a favor in forcing the republicans to buckle down and govern.
