I have a feeling that Trump's over eagerness to skip the usual protocols results in another mass kill off. While these infections are building under looser rules, vastly more humans exposed to bird flu and we get the goldilocks mutation. But hey, lightning never strikes twice eh? Never never.. The timeline aligns for new hens to begin egg production following the avian flu outbreaks and subsequent culling in late 2024. Typically, pullets (young hens) are transferred to laying facilities around 16 weeks of age and start laying eggs shortly thereafter. Given that it's now March 2025, approximately 20 weeks have passed, allowing sufficient time for these new hens to reach maturity and commence egg production. Diverting millions of eggs for fertilization and hatching would have significantly impacted the egg supply. This is also reducing, helping supply.
