Shouldn't OTM call expire close to zero?

Do you actively trade options....if so, create a trading journal here documenting each trade: time/date, entry/exit price, % gain/loss, and overall account growth/decline

You shouldn't feel that way. Thats one of the purposes of this forum, to learn about these things. I am sure a lot of people don't understand the intricacies of exercise cutoff times.

 

Were they naked short calls? How many? That could have turned out badly for you.

He didn't know why they were bid to 14.5 OTM. Obv you have to assume some potential event. These do not expire to cash. You see an OTM SN call going off at 4% premium then you need to perform some DD.
