  2. Congress embezzled all the money. it's not anymore complicated than that. They don't steal all the money to fund their pet projects, illegal wars, wasted foreign aid, we'd all be retiring earlier with twice the benefit. Put the blame where it lies. Your government fucked everyone while lining their own pockets. Simple as that.

Interesting how this thread has been so quickly transmorgriphied.

Ya but the difference between me and you is it didn't take me 50 years to figure out politicians are congenital liars and psychopaths. The Boomers are like geriatric versions of Bambi - an entire generation of doe-eyed fawns that never grew up. Eager and willing to jump into the front seat of Ted Bundys car. Where we going Ted??!!?

  6. Oh, I had in figured out at age 19. It came to me while traipsing through a rice paddy. Gee, they lied to me. Never trusted a thing that comes out of their mouths since. Not that it matters. The entire system is rigged, totally corrupt, and they do as they please regardless of what the people want.

I'm a boomer and I don't even remotely fit that description.

  8. There is something to be said for not subjecting terminal patients to painful and ultimately futile treatment. I don't want Hillary Clinton making that decision however.

It's funny how liberals are always wringing their hands over what it costs for the elderly, but can't wait to piss money away on illegal immigrants, welfare leeches, the education establishment and an endless list of crony capitalism boondoggles that line the pockets of their supporters.

Republican "reformers" like Paul Ryan are little better. They want to squeeze the middle class with tax "reform", eg eliminating mortgage deductions, charitable deductions, cutting IRA and 401k contributions, making seniors pay even more for medicare, yet the one thing they will fight for is an enormous, bloated, wasteful defense budget.

  9. Me too. It's odd how a generation that twice voted for obama can accuse us of being naive.

Unfortunately, I thought for decades that the republican party actually believed what they put in the platform and the reason they couldn't get it implemented was because those darn pesky rinos were always tilting a vote in the wrong direction. Surely the platform was what the party stood for.
Then I figured out that the rinos run the party and the platform was just a marketing gimmick to sucker in conservatives and the rinos couldn't care less about the platform.
In my opinion the rinos will destroy this country only a little slower than the democrats. I can't get behind that any more.
