Should the Supreme Court overturn Roe V. Wade?

  1. way to go lundy. that was a brilliant 'argument from outrage' you gave me.

now, have a REAL HARD THINK about it, and tell me:

what exactly is INTRINSICALLY wrong about kiling?

is there ANY other reason we consider it 'wrong', 'evil', 'immoral' apart from the fact that we simply DON'T LIKE IT?

    THINK dude.

  2. i'm still waiting for you to tell me why it's wrong to kill ANYONE?

see, if we can make exceptions to 'thou shalt not kill' when it suits our purposes, like war, killing criminals, cattle, pigs etc, why can't we make exceptions when it comes to fetuses?

as 'radical' as my point of view might seem, it is OBVIOUS that certain people -- namely the pregnant women having it done -- do not really care about their 'potential person'. what more proof do you want? we only consider taking life as 'bad' when it upsets us.

of course there's millions of you that do feel bad about this fetus's death, but that's balanced out by millions of others -- who, by their very actions -- are screaming loud and clear that they don't really care.

why should yours be the default point of view?

  4. Im pro-life but Im also a realist.....It's sad that it's a "choice" and not a "life"...however, let's be realistic: what will you do with all the doctors who preform the abortions anyway? Even if it was overturned, people are still going to go to their doctors and get them done....are we going to arrest the doctor and actually sentence him?? the mother too??..that's not going to happen so to continue to debate it is worthless.

  5. I don't care for guys who beat their wives, but if i don't take part in a halfway house for woman does that mean my opinion is worthless?....also, you would be surprised at the number of christian organizations who run programs specifically designed for this...and im also trying to figure out the rationalization of, the kid is better off dead....It's like a cop shooting a young hood down in the street for stealing a car radio and his response is:"well he would have ended up in prison some day anyway"

  6. Now that Lundy has replied, may I jump in? Thank you...

Why should a father who opposes abortion but is wholly cogniscent of that fact that he is unfit to be a good father then be forced to raise the child? You are thus punishing the child.

  7. My two nieces were abandoned by their mothers instead of being aborted. One was left at an orphanage, the other at a major intersection of town where the chances of being found were the highest.

I do not know if "most if not all" adoptable kids have suffered from the abuses you mention. Undoubtedly there have been many. Even so, the argument seems to boil down to "well, these kids MAY grow up in miserable environments, so it's better that they weren't born at all." I know far too many adopted people, not only my nieces, who are outstanding, law-abiding, and fine human beings, for me to subscribe to that view.

If you're going to make a miserable childhood the basis for advocating abortion, then virtually the entire continent of Africa and much of South America and Asia should be exterminated.

  8. life in (almost) ANY situation is better than no life at all.

    we're talkin consciousness here folks.

    sentience.

    being.

    ISism.

    Existence.

    I feel.

    I think.

    I love.

    I hate.

    It's all there is.

not "wanted" you say?? who cares?

your parents are just two other lives.

don't make them out to be larger than life itself.

for god sakes get over *whatever* it is.

    adapt & improvise.

    LIVE!

    till you die. :-|

(dying is your real problem, never life)

I am not making a miserable childhood the case for abortion. I am making miserable childhood the case for life not truly being precious as people would like you to believe.

You are right in Africa there is a 25% chance a child will not see it's 5th birthday. In Asia there are over 1,000,0000 children who were sold in to slavery by their parents. And in the good old US there are almost as many babies abandoned each year as there are ADOPTED.

So I come back to my original premise that if life was so precious then this number would be zero. And the fact remains that people just don't give a shit once the kids are born, on the whole.

But if the question is which bothers me more, a baby who has to have it's anus reconstructed because it's mother sold it to a child pornographer for crack, or the same mother having an abortion, well I will let you decide.
