Should the Supreme Court overturn Roe V. Wade?

  1. Logic is not a human invention? The concept of objectivity is not a human invention? Try to prove that sometime.

Because you took someone's life that chooses to live ( regardless if it is a feeling or not that person no longer can enjoy life which is his right to enjoy ) . As optional has pointed out, people or at least the majority do want to live.

  3. all i want is an answer to "why is killing wrong" beyond our FEELINGS about it?

    you've given none.
    ==============================================

    Using that logic.........

If I rape your mother, is that morally wrong? I wanted to have sex so I banged your mom from behind.....I had an urge and used it on her....why is it wrong, beyond your obvious feelings about it?

I want a new car......So I Carjack a 78 year old man....Im stronger, younger and have more use for it....He's old and probably is better off dead instead of crapping his pants every night, i did him a favor in reality right..?

I get totally wasted at a Bar tonight, take the keys and crash into a family of 6 and kill them....is that morally wrong?

I decide that the KKK has a point and I put on a pillow case and chain a black man to my car and drag him to his death on a texas dirt road.....outside of your feelings about it, is that morally wrong?

Logic - objectivity etc are human constructs, as are right, wrong evil ,good. Morals exist because humans define and invent them, not because they need or have to exist, it's because people want them to. Logic is a system of reasoning based upon evidence, judgment, analysis of an inference. All human concepts - and not because any of these things are seen to exist independently of humanity, in the way energy or matter does. No extreme of "wrong" is wrong outside the human definition of it. Everything in the universe that literally can happen ...can happen, without the requirement for right or wrong making the slightest difference . The only real judgments as to whether something is evil or good for people can be made by people. That's where religion likes to get a hold, another man made thang... 'cause the harsh reality is there is nothing that is wrong of itself, intrinsically so it's really handy to have a god as surrogate higher authority to insist human value of right and wrong. Even though law developed in a democratic free society is far better and more practical for us mere mortals to use.
To murder is to commit the ultimate theft. You can't steal from the universe it’s completely self contained. Everything in it…. is of it….. but you can steal from your fellow man (or from an unborn baby).

  6. Nice post stu......i have another question:

how come most animals have a certain instinct? An alligator is a vicious flesh eating animal......yet is so gentle and protective of her young? Why wouldn't she just eat the young in a few months when they got a little bigger?

Have you ever noticed that Animals lke dogs and lions ect...move away form he place they are born? they don't sleep with their sister/brother....instead they wander away form the litter.....

For the most part, animals will not kill each other in a fight...when most animals are fighting for a female, they stop short of killing their own species..they will usually drive them away but tey stop short of actually killing their own.

These animals are born with a certain 'moral' system, even though they have no logic or thought to base it on.....why? how would they know?....unless there is possibly a universal right and wrong?????

    Hi TM_Direct,
She instinctively wants her tweeny gators to survive. Morals aren’t instinctive in that way. Breathing is - sleeping is - rearing young is, at least in the wild.
Inbreeding creates faults, fresh strong breeding is the aim…

  9. ....ok....fair enough....

so animals have an intrinsic instinct to protect their young....It's not a universal right or wrong....it's just Nature's way of securng their existence....why would nature be against a brother and sister mating???? why would there be such a chemical problem that would cause genetic faults? Why would mane be set up this way? there must be a male and femal species to procreate...but why?

an evolving, mutating, biological, genetic, system with no pre ordained concepts of right or wrong - just existence, would account for that.
    and WHY?....well, why not ?
Did you mean why is incest only set up in mane USA or just anywhere in general ?? :)
