To be fair when I was young the NRA was a meaningful organization with a purpose focused on gun safety. Nearly every school had a gun safety program sponsored by the NRA, etc.

In recent years the NRA has gone completely psycho, has become a con, and no longer resembles its traditional roots.

Switzerland is it? has decent gun training program for all their youth (I think due to compulsory service). Maybe Israel too?

I'm sure they also have decent screening of psychos and likely renewal of said training.

  5. Then parents can use their vouchers to send kids to those schools if they are satified with them or not, depending on safety and all the other issues related to schools.

I was not following the thread and did not see that it was focused around large scale school shooting. I see or hear or about the issue of guns and school and safety, and as I said to Usual Tard, my mind goes to the day in and day out matters in neighborhoods and schools around the country as well, especially on Dem Plantations. Some white kids might die in school shooting in Colorado or elsewhere and we hear about it for years. But if the same number are shot in a weekend in Chicago in combined incidents, nothing to see there.

  6. Arming kids is leaving it a bit late, I propose arming embryos. Admittedly there would be a few practical difficulties to overcome but we are an ingenious species so anything is possible. Or to go one step further what about tiny guns for sperm, that the little swimmers could take with them on their inter-uterine adventures…

How about shooting the embryos so the pro-lifers finally jump onboard?

Bullshit. Democrats have put up many, many common sense policy proposals to limit gun violence and republicans do nothing. Republicans spout off nonsense like guns don’t kill people and the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy.

It’s all lies from republicans. You all pretend that the loose gun laws are “nothing to see here” and not related to the tens of thousands of deaths a year in this country from guns.

The gun violence is squarely on republicans and their gun policies.

  9. Gun violence is very much part of life on the dem plantation despite your attempt to make it a republican issue. The presence of guns themselves does not become toxic until it is mixed in with a toxic culture- of which the dem plantations are Exhibit A. As I have said before, I grew up in a state that- at that time- had the highest gun ownership rate in the country- and the lowest crime and gun violence rate in the country. Because we did not have a toxic culture. An inconvenient truth for democrats.

Ok. So you’re saying states with high crime and gun violence have a toxic culture. Let’s check the map then:
