  1. Pathetic TGregg, that sarcasm would be just ok if you're in junior high, but you're probably older than that.

The minimum wage should be raised. Everyone is not on an even playing field in the USA. Everything is manipulated in favor of the rich.

Try to imagine where the poor would be today if the minimum wage wasn't at least where it is today.

  3. Ask yourself where the jobless would be today if minimum wage wasnt where its at today. If minimum wage was still 5 bucks per hour, there would be 50% more minimum wage Jobs which would probably put unemployment at 5%. If you are a store owner and you have 15 bucks per hour to pay employees what is better...3 at $5 per hour or 2 at $7.25 per hour? So now business owners are going to overwork employees or give less service.

Some stores had to shut down because they couldnt make a profit from paying minimum wage. If you want a more even playing field then why not force any company that is worth over 1 billion dollars to pay a certain percentage over minimum wage, that way at least the small business owner isnt cut out of the loop. You keep raising min. wage and the only stores that will be left are wal-marts.

  4. Since you are a religious person, what do you think Jesus would have done?

  5. if the minimum wage was 1$ an hour, the economy would collapse. Why? Because there are less jobs avilable. Why? because the rich hoard the money, money flow in the economy decreases and a bust happens. nobody is spending money, because they cant afford to buy anything. next best thing is deflation/.

if a low minimum wage is a good thing, why not set a maximum wage? lets say you pay a maximum of $1 an hour, and 1$ extra if the job is well done. That's $2 and a very motivated employee. This way the poor poor rich dont have to spend so much on employees. we should pass legislation so that walmart can have maximum wage of $1 an hour. Then they can hire 10 times as many employees. Unemployment problem solved!

  6. Excellent question, my friend. This is what he would have done...

Matthew 6:31 "do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own"

I think Jesus would be against minimum wage as it forces people to pay more than they want to pay which would then fall under the category "Thou shall not steal"

Jesus also said "do not resist an evil man, if he asks for your shirt, also give him your cloak"

So it seems he is against minimum wage in the first place, but if we are forced to pay minimum wage, then we should give them more than minimum wage.

  7. ah yes, minimum wage, the ultimate proof that there's a "law of unintended consequences". when the government intervenes in private enterprise, it just fvcks things up.

i live in one of the states with much higher minimum wage. i have seen how businesses cope with this: since labor is among the largest expense of any business, what they do is simply not hire as many people as they otherwise would have, or they reduce people's hours and make people work harder, thus demanding the same productivity per dollar spent on wages.

    minimum wage laws are stupid.

Eliminating Social Security would be like giving everyone a 6.2% raise every paycheck!

The focus should be on garnishes, not wages. Once that is fixed, then come back to me and talk about wages.

Yep, the above ass nine statement is the attitudetaking over the US. Obama will pay for your gas, your house and your food.
And to all you who voted OBAMA.. How is your "Check Book" now, if you haven't been laid off? Hummm, where are all those jobs he was gona create for all you who voted for Him? Ohh yea, they went to the rich. How about your overall standard of living in the last year?....opps I forgot, the rich fucked you on that as well.

Oh yea, and all those loosing their homes because they borrowed more than they can pay...that was the rich again.

And all you driving cars on 8 year loans....it was the rich that forced you into that.

And all you who carry 30k plus on credit cards, it was the rich that did that to you!

And for all you making minimum wage and those who feel for them, it was the rich that "Keep't" you down.

    LOL.

Yep, blame the rich..it is all their fault.

    WHO IS JOHN GAULT?

  10. It used to be the "white man" that kept them down. But now they can blame the rich and also a wider variety of people can now blame their problems on the rich. Poor white people can also join the minorities now because they have the rich to blame.

It just goes to show that when you run a campaign where the only word you use is "Change" (and you dont say what change is) all the people who's lives suck are going to vote for "change" in hopes that their lives will change. They were riding on the hopes that someone was going to take care of them instead of dealing with their problems on their own.
