  1. According to online polls, world economy is $14 Trillion ponzi because 80% people say that more than 20% of world economy is ponzi.

Member says "Congress gets applauded in the media for swindling 300 million people in their ponzi scheme. Madoff goes to prison for swindling several hundred people in his ponzi scheme. Translation: The ponzi scheme will collapse without more money being pumped into the system to pay the bonds coming due.

Nouriel Roubini, Laurence Kotlikoff, Steve Keen, Michel Chossudovsky, Bill Gross and the Wall Street Journal all say that the U.S. economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. Virtually all independent economists and financial experts say that rampant fraud was largely responsible for the financial crisis.

  2. Personally I don't have a problem with ponzi schemes and think they should be legal.A lot of people can make money for a long time before they collapse. Its just another form of gambling imo

Madoff should not be released. While I have no problems with ponzi schemes people should be told that that is what they are investing in

  3. LOL!! Imagine that, a pinko lefty in favor of ponzi schemes. At least this one is honest. LMAO!!

  5. The originating crime of any Ponzi scheme is fraud. Ponzi operators lie to their clients. Like you, I wouldn't have a problem with them if the operators told the truth -- which they would never do because then nobody would play their game.

That's the most important regulatory job of government -- "truth in labeling." I don't care what they offer for sale in the supermarket as long as everything is clearly and honestly labeled. Then let everyone make their own choices.

  6. FBI has a habit of shutting down ponzi investment programs/scheme.

So FBI should shut down USA government and federal reserve also.

  7. Reply from world famous economist:

Madoff was simply not TOO BIG to throw to the dogs. They love to have sacrificial perps, not lambs, but real culprits who get exposed. This "Proves" to the people that the top guys throwing him to the dogs are "Good Guys.? They BEAT THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN PROPORTION THEIR OWN GUILT. The Soviets were masters at this. Little guys would write from the provinces that some local Party hack was robbing them blind. If he was not in the good graces of the top dogs, they made a big Media event of arresting, trying and even at times executing the grass eater to better hide the monstrous meat eaters at the top. The Chinese are good at this. So are America's rulers.

  8. I'd like to ask Harry Markopolous a question.

Is any justice being served by having him in jail or is there someone else he would like to see in jail instead of madoff.

I'd bet Markopolous has a list of people who were basically accessories to Madoff scheme.

Fwiw, Only half of the people who invested with Madoff lost money, how many lost money with Lehman? Probably everyone.

    Mercor

If one were to tell the truth and still get investors would that be illegal?
If you told people you could double your money as long as you are not the last one left, you might get more motivated investors.

  10. I agree

I remember years ago a member of my mothers church started a pyramid scheme called the friends helping friends network or something like that

Everyone knew it was a pyramid scheme and the way he had it set up you invested 100 and got 500 back as others joined in.It went well for awhile with a lot of people investing the 100 and getting 500 back until the spouse of a church member who is a cop started snooping around and then it collapsed. Some loss at the end but a lot people turned 100 into 500 multiple times before it collapsed. Everyone who invested in it knew it was a ponzi scheme but were willing to take the risk
