Should Israel strike Iran?

  1. If Iran plays its cards correctly it will be receiving free enriched Uranium for every one of its reactors (including the ones that haven't been built yet) from the West forever.

  2. They don't want to receive free enriched uranium for their reactors, they want to have nukes.

  3. Good post hound dog.

I dunno. Again - I agree this is all about Iran and a prelude to conflict. But I don't think its a walk in the park to wipe out Iran and certainly not one the US could undertake unilaterally. Iran is ot a chickenshit country like Iraq and attacking Iran will turn the majority of Iraqi Shia Muslims against the US . Iran has over 150,000 targets (U.S. soldiers) in Iraq and Afghanistan and has made it clear they will not hesitate to attack these if provoked. In addition, Iran has threatened to employ terrorist tactics world wide if such a scenario plays out(through hezbollah and any of the many other wack job cells it has employed world wide)...

Nobody knows the exact numbers but Iran has say a million strong military force - employing 10% of it to go over and kill US soldiers in Iraq would be a pretty easy move...They demonstrated this in a war game in december - by sending 120 000 troops to the western iraq border...

Politically, georgey has no political capital to pull this off anyway- or funding or friends. Russia and China (the latter being responsible for propping up our economy currently) get oil from Iran and have been pretty clear about their intentions, however misguided.

Iran controls the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman and others which oil flows through and could sink ships, mine sea routes or bomb oil platforms. This affects the world and would not be a popular move. Further straining other relationships. Anyway - not to dwell on it - I just don't think wiping out Iran or attacking it in any form is a slam dunk.

What I dont underestimate is the arrogance and reckless disregard george bush has for humanity - so who the #$$*& knows what will happen....

The whole thing makes me real sad... What a waste. Not to get too John Lennon on your capitalistic asses but take the collective resources we will spend to blow up lebanon, israel, afghanistan, iran, iraq etc and you could literally solve world hunger and provide a basic standard of living for everybody. What a selfish and shitty thing.

  4. Pabst

    Pabst

By the same token OPEC could allocate a weeks worth of oil revenue and build Palestine into Utopia. But then again if that happened they wouldn't have much to keep bitching about.....

  5. Long, long ago there was this little incident called 9/11...
Where 3,000 people in New York City were murdered...
By cowardly Isamo-Fascist terrorists that hide in caves, abuse their women, and believe it's the 12th century.

    This unplesant little historical footnote...
Happened because the Clinton administration did next to nothing...
After repeated Islamo-Fascist terrorist attacks on US embassies and targets worldwide...
And repeated declarations of war by Islamo-Fascist leaders throughout the world.

Instead of just getting another blowjob from Monica and trotting out Madeleine Albright for a press conference...
George Bush has decided to take this War seriously...
And the US is pursuing a strategy that will win the war in a generation or two.

    In war...
One side wins and the other side loses.

    Also, in war...
    People take sides...
Especially in this one where there is zero middle ground.

    To win this war...
    At the absolute least...
The governments of Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Syria would have to be changed.

Iraq was #2 because it was a much easier target than Iran...
Though Iran has always been the Central Nexus of Islamo-Fascist terrorism.

So now in the next 12 months...
We will see a showdown between Bush and the corrupt, homicidal mullahs in Tehran.
** The war is underway **... with 2 proxies doing the fighting.

One thing the mostly anti-American US media ignores...
Is that there has not been a single terrorist attack on US soil since that upleasant 9/11 thang...
Which is a testament to W that history shall not overlook.

  7. I'll concede that Iran has to be dealt with before they perfect their nuclear technology? Lets say that could take 10-15 years...

In the meantime ...The only war I am aware of is the one "W" is fighting against himself. Some sort of Freudian daddy didnt love me episode that is causing the world to burn while he stands by playing with an atlantic ocean size bottle of lighter fluid like a 6 year old. What war is it you are suggesting we are in? War is for imminent threats. Do you see any imminent threats in the US? From Iran? Iraq? Syria? Hezbollah?

Do you honestly believe if Al Qaeda or Hezbolla or Mickey Mouse from Disney wanted to off another 3000 Americans tommorow they couldn't pull it off? That it has been prevented by George Bush's vigilance? That his policy has created a better environment with less threats to our populace? That the world is a better place because of George Bush ? Dude, 3000 Iraqi's die in a few weeks in Americas little pet project to democratize Iraq.

As for your assertion that there are winners and losers in a war - I would beg you to get confirmation to such a statement from anyone who has had a love one disfigured, burned, paralyzed, raped or murdered in any conflict be they iranian, american, iraqi, syrian or lebanese.

The Isamo-Fascist terrorists that hide in caves, abuse their women, and believe it's the 12th century do not reflect the attitudes of the average Iranian, Iraqi, Afghani, Syrian, or Lebanese person. Most, like you and I, are too busy trying to pay the bills and put food on the table for their family.

I think we create fundamentalism when we propogate violence. Unfortunately, with the advent of nuclear arms, escalation of this type of violence is an end game. I find it real scary how hard line people are when we are truly on the precipice of full scale nuclear doom. If Iran gets nuked or attacked even - say hello to a lot of nuclear capable countries who just lost 50-70% of there oil.

Are there fanatics in the world? Yes. Do they need to be dealt with? Absolutely. Do we need to indiscriminately destroy countries and murder innocent people to do so?

  10. He doesn't....

But like most losers, he hates himself, and just uses the US as a proxy...
