They are not. Even with all the military training and psychology most people do NOT turn into lethal soldiers. They turn into sheep that fires around and may kill in self defense when under fire - but they do not turn into cold hearted killing machines. The few who do - have just the right psychological setup from the start (i.e. before their training). In the US this may be a little better than in most countries - no draft, people applying in the military as soldiers already are not "all people" only a subgroup at least a little more comfortable with killing. And even then, statistics show a pretty comical inefficiency (nr. of bullets fired vs. bullets hitting). Why you think firing squads for killing people have many people, and some fire with dummy munitions? So that everyone can say "hey, i did not kill him, i likely had dummy bullets anyway". Psychological trick. Because the normal soldier is NOT a lethal soldier by any means.
Yes, the IQ level must be SERIOUSLY low if you have people naming themselves YourMaster as if they think they know better. Of course anyone with half a brain knows that IQ tests are extremely flawed to begin with and wouldn't use them as a rating of intelligence. I guess we're thinking different things, I'm purely talking about ability you seem to be talking about the psychological aspect even on the psychological aspect however I don't think at all you need the right psychology to be a killer. Think of all the murder stories you hear about where seemingly ordinary people can end up even killing by accident.
The problem you have is that you show singular examples as generic ability. Yes, SEEMINGLY normal people sometimes turn mass murder. But that does not mean everyone has the psychological outfit to be a mass murder in himself. To the topic: Yes, some seemingly normal people make great traders. That does not mean everyone can be mae into one. The question here still is whether trading requires a specific profile that has to be there (innate ability). Giving singular examples does not show anything. All your serial killers are, at least in hindsight, not normal to start with In many cases such "normal" people then turn out to have had serious problems for some time, which where kindly ignored by the people they interacted with. Or they were roleplayers, or playing violent computer games
quit your job with 10k capital? of course not start trading now while working at your job? Most definately goals for you: 3-5 years of constant trading savings = 100k+200k+ trade style = trade 100 size lots trades till you are sick of trading, then relax for 2 weeks , keep doing this until you reach 3 years of variety trading. Testing every single strategy you can think of, short, longs, everything. You will see everything the market has to offer. Nothing will surprise you then. with a 10k capital, is equivalent of you going to war with a steak knife. with your low trading experience, is equivalent of you going to UFC after doing cardio boxing at your local Ballys fitness. Both is fine for dreamers , except you'll be knocked the fk out in 30 seconds. Success in trading = experience * capital .
This topic is kinda pathetic, over and over. Take 2 weeks off work, with 10k either you hit the ground running or you fail. After 2 weeks you should be up at least 2-3k otherwise you'll probably be down 2-3k. If you can trade, trade, and if not keep your job. It's like another poster wrote, you're a bit soft. Just figure it out.
I don't read technical analysis books anymore, I agree it's mumbo jumbo. I traded for a long time prior to working at the brokerage firm and yes my experience there has nothing to do with trading. Please read the whole thread before calling me naive, it's really annoying. You told me nothing I don't already know, I know what collective2 is and I probably have more screen time proportional to my age than you do.
This of course is not accurate - ask Richard and Dennis or even Michael J. It takes dedication and perseverance as does anything someone wishes really wishes to accomplish.
Quote from BillySimas: Please read the whole thread before... Ummm ---> "I actually read every post in this thread, and I will briefly make these points to BillySimas" calling me naive, it's really annoying. I suggest you do the same - read the entire message; you are a carbon copy of hundreds of people who keep washing ashore on ET with the same M.O. Trade with $10K, leave a decent paying job in a good economy to trade, etc. Pretty much every one of them disappears a few months later, and it is not hard to figure out why. You told me nothing I don't already know Doubtful, because it is quite apparent you do not understand. People here don't know each other. We go by their posts. Yours was naive and wide-eyed. The sad thing is, you get offended rather than listening. That is a sign of immaturity. I probably have more screen time proportional to my age than you do. Wasn't aware there was some kind of screentime / age ratio. And screen time is absolultely no guarantee of nonfailure. Again, you are taking offense rather than listening. Did you come to ET to proclaim or to learn?
