I don't know, but it is for sure the same reason the bible talked about having to take your clothes off before you got on an airplane as early as the old testament.

It has been estimated that over 65,000 Southern blacks were in the Confederate ranks. Over 13,000 of these, “saw the elephant” also known as meeting the enemy in combat. These Black Confederates included both slave and free. The Confederate Congress did not approve blacks to be officially enlisted as soldiers (except as musicians), until late in the war. But in the ranks it was a different story. Many Confederate officers did not obey the mandates of politicians, they frequently enlisted blacks with the simple criteria, “Will you fight?” Historian Ervin Jordan, explains that “biracial units” were frequently organized “by local Confederate and State militia Commanders in response to immediate threats in the form of Union raids”. Dr. Leonard Haynes, an African-American professor at Southern University, stated,
“When you eliminate the black Confederate soldier, you’ve eliminated a part of the history of the South.”

The concept of colonizers being "legal" immigrants is BS though. Sure Britain said, "from now on this is land of the crown", but it's not like the native party even acknowledge such proclamation.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ---(George Orwell, 1984)

  8. We are all descended from indigenous tribes. All of us. There is not a single person on this earth who does not have native ancestry. And all of human history has been about dislocating other peoples. If you peel the layer of an onion off to see who originally owned a land, then there are another five hundred layers of the onion below it.

The iconic Lakota (Sioux) for example are actually an nothern woodlands tribe living near the great lakes until they were forced westward by indian wars in that area and took land from tribes in the west. Remington's paintings and sculptures shows the the stereotypical Lakota as being on horseback killing buffalo. In reality, the lakota had never seen a buffalo until they went west and had never seen a horse until the spanish arrived.
