All you are doing is proving my point. China has a population over a billion, growing industrial strength, and the ability to conscript an army easily bigger then yours. Russia and a few other countries still have ready nuclear weapons. You simply aren't as safe as you think you are, and it's the fact that you DON'T take out other nations that enables you to keep your own nation. Safety in peace is just as important for Americans as it is for many other smaller nations. Yes you are just strong enough to get yourself into trouble in the wrong hands. The globe doesn't need grandstanding military powers whether it be the US, Russia, or China. Fuck that. As much as we'd like to think you'll behave and understand this, Canada like many nations on the planet will turn on you as a group if you get out of line.
I'm attacking your pro-military attitude. The world doesn't need this shit, don't care what country you are in.
Congrats on your Afghanistan and Iraq experiences, and how well you dealt with Covid. Give yourself a clap. All that turmoil with your Mexican border I can only imagine if your northern border was with a Communist adversary .
Canada is diversifying away from the US as its #1 trading partner by creating free trade agreement with Far Eastern countries.
Answer to the Question posed by the Thread Title: If we don't do it, Yes. It is still to be decided. But we are fast running out of time.. We nay need to send thousands of troops back in to protect those that helped us and see that they the get out safely. We know who they are and we can positively identify them, and in many cases we know where they are. We should forget about the paper work for now and just get them out. We can process them later. And by no means are they all at the Kabul airport! If we don't get these people out, and they are eventually rounded up and killed, our desertion of those who helped us will hang like an albatross around our collective neck for years to come. We should spare no effort and no expense to rescue them.
