  4. Uptick,

When the stock goes from 30.00 back to 30.01

The specialist or market maker can then fill your short order,

Sometimes the bastard pulls the price down to 29.80 , and upticks to 29.85 and fills you at 29.85

But then rushes the price back to $30.00

So you are down 15 cents instantly.

    If the stock is constantly falling from $30.00 $29.95 $29.85 $29.75 $29.74

With no signs of any upticks(higher prices, you won't get filled at all)
but mostly likely, you'll get filled somewhere around $29.85, and the marker maker upticks the stock to $29.87 and you'll get fillled there.

    Duely noted NBBO!

Is it considered "shorting" if I sell futures?
Can I sell a future now, or do I need to wait for later?
If I can sell a future now, why not call a future a now?

    I am totally confused now.

Oh man, now I'm confused. The way I understand the rules, tall people aren't allowed to short stocks. Is this correct?

No ....the uptick was only removed for these stocks... http://www.sec.gov/spotlight/shopilot/currentpilota41305.txt

And the uptick is for shorts only..... when you buy first and sell 15 min later there is no uptick because you are not shorting then ...you are simply selling a stock you own.....you are going from long to flat....

So long to flat no uptick...

flat to short...uptick except for the stocks above....

    Good luck....
