I closed my short H/M this morning. Those short squeezes are nasty. I couldn't handle it a second time just before expiration so a small 2.1 loss for me.

I don’t know any way to short effectively in US besides futures or options on futures. Now to the more important question of what actual fundamentals make you want to short? Please don’t tell me some chart pattern.
