Shorting, how many are shorts?

I was wondering, how can you find out how many share in a stock are being shorted? Is there even a way to find out how many shares are being shorted?

Per day?! Keep dreaming. It's updated once a month, with an 11 business day lag (T+3 settlement PLUS another 8 business days on top of that). Same goes for the NYSE, here's the NASDAQ breakdown:

sure would be nice to finda way to pry some of that data loose on a daily basis. Trading would be more "fun".
