I have both an interactive brokerage account (IRA, so no margin) and 2 retail brokerage accounts. I tried to execute a short sale on YPNT the other day when it was trading above $5. When I called Scottrade they said the stock was "unshortable" as determined by the FED. Clearly there are some loopholes as I'm certain this stock is being shorted, I just am not sure how. I've heard a Canadian brokerage could short the stock; is that a solution? Any ideas?
