Yes it does on the A list. I only tried it once though, maybe the spec just processed my order immediately. I know it didn't work before, but there doesn't seem to be a reason it wouldn't now on A list stocks.
Even though Fidelity shows 0 shortable shares for QQQQ I was able to short today. May be because I closed my long QQQQ position 5 min before that
I shorted DV with the nx twice this morning. Reuters even listed the prints with the auto next to it signifying an NX execution. In the future Ratboy, please simply don't reply to my posts saying I am wrong this is the second time this thread you have done so, even when I wasn't. If you have some actual article or nyse rule please present it rather than just your useless your wrong I am right comments. Having 1000 posts with 95% of them being useless doesn't give you much cred in my book. Your need to feel better about yourself and push down people you don't even know would probably be worked out better with a therapist than on ET.
I also have a friend from Generic who told me he could use the nx for shorting the stocks from the list, I'm not sure he is right, maybe he got a quick fill to a limit order, I read that sell short orders are not acceptable for nx processing unless the stock has exemption from the rule. not sure if stocks on list A are exempt from this rule but I know for sure that at least with few firms you can't use the nx for shorting. Is there anyone who know for sure if NYSE allow using the nx?
I have been nx'ing the SHO stocks on the short side and have been getting filled as if it were an nx. i guess they could have just been limits but as quickly as I have gotten filled, I figure they must have been nx's.
