guys, there is no BS. if a stock is in the inventory list delivered by numerous counter parties, it is made available. I'll check with stock loan but there is no conspiracy.
just checked. its really just a matter of availability. perhaps after expiration on friday it will get better.

Something was screwy for a few days with the short list, seemed to be fixed by Wed. Another mystery for the ages.
If you own a stock clearly you should be able to sell it. If you care to PM your account info, I could ask someone to take a look. I spoke to our CFO on Wed/Thurs? and he said there was a spike in rates and the list of our 6 plus lends were shorter than normal. I do no know why stock loan rates spiked or why they came back down the following day. While a completely different market, I can tell you that HSBC (the largest stock in the HK index by far) was unavailable to borrow last week as well. On Friday it was available again in HK. No excuse for your response. CS reps need to read a mail fully before responding.
