Well, so much for the "very good CD divergence signal" (whatever that may be).

 

As soon as I see a blotter I will shut up, now get back to the nymex site to check the latest (oops delayed) qoutes on cl. Also, I am not the one claiming all kinds of ridiculous things that have been claimed. But if you really want me too, I will post my trade that I will do right now in about 20 min.

 

I havn't traded oil in a while, I usually trade ES on a daily basis, but it looked as though CL would be more interesting today. I've followed oil through my stock holdings, mainly HES and APA, both of which I sold yesterday after very nice returns. I short some CL this a.m. at 133.33, moved my stop down too agressively and got stopped at 133.22. I then reshorted at 132.84 and covered at 131.48 as the move seemed to stall. I shorted again at 132.58, covering at 131.84. I jumped in once again at 131.90, and just covered at 130.53. Nice day, I'm glad I stopped by. btw, I'm only trading one contract at a time right now, although that could change if I start trading CL more. I have np posting my blotter either.

Thanks. I've been trading (swing and intermediate term) the oil rally for a few years through stocks, and I don't know how many times that we've had a huge run up and then I've failed to sell at toppy prices, only to get good but not great prices later. This feels pretty toppy to me right now, so even though I've "drunk the koolaid" on higher prices long term, I think we see a large move down now or very soon. I wish I had the balls to hold CL for longer terms, but you know how it is, it moves around like crazy.

 

I still view oil as bullish, same for gold.

Why change your method, it seems to be working well for you.

 

I am bullish on oil as well longer term, but that doesn't mean it won't go down 20-30 points before it goes up again. Besides, after I got my ass handed to me on ES yesterday, I need something else to trade.
