Riskarb, For what it's worth, I'm happy you are making money on this trade. But if you think about it, you could have just sold 20k shares of ebay 2 pts higher and gotten the same results because that is where 90% of your profits are coming from. You entered this trade with -20k delta and the stock came in 2 pts. That's basically the jist of it. Also, I'm surprised you are taking money off the table since you said originally you were going to actually add to your position and make it bigger. You also said you were going to hold it possibly two weeks. But I do think you are smart to take profits here because I stand by my prediction that this baby will gap 3 to 5 pts in either direction after they report. Good luck on the rest of the trade.
What is your problem man? I actually come in here to sincerely commend you on the good trade and you act like a child and rip me apart yet again. Dude, I was being serious about the good trade. Are you really close to 50 years old and acting like this. Fine, that's right, I'm 29. but you have got to be between 45 and 55 years old by my calculations and you are acting like a 15 year old bragging about how much money he makes. Are you aware that you are the only person, and I mean the only person out of 20k members on ET that actually brags about the dollar amounts on their trades. Some guys brag about how many Es points they take out but you are the only one that actually brags about the money. How does that make you feel? Oh and by the way as I'm sure you know what having negative gamma means. It means that as the stock falls your deltas are getting bought back. You originally were short 20k deltas but as the stock fell your negative gamma reduced your delta exposure to about -8,000 delta now. I'm sure this must be elementary to you. Man do me a favor, when your done with this trade, take your 50 year old ass back to Old town and stop posting here ok? Thanks.
Actually, no, I keep the remaining fills my business. It was ill-advised to report the trade here -- regardless of the gains to date. I bid farewell to ET -- in my short-stay I've made quite a few good friends. arb.
Remeber this post, early Alzheimer's Mav? And the closer I get to neutrality, the more neutral it gets, yeah, known that since you were in in Middle School. WTF are you on? Can't rememer your own line? You ran the trade in the (sic) OptionVue, didn't you? What happened to the initial $12k deltas? NOW, they were $20k short?! LOL I think you need a tutorial on the app, buddy, you musta broke it... Oh and , BTW... the volty line on those 65s is under 35% volty, familiar with short VEGA? I'll leave with one lst though... it will be a cold day in hell when I take position advice from a guy that turned $200k into $80k in long LEAPS. Best of luck with your $10k V-Trader stake. arb.
Will do... and you might want to consider gainful employment, 'cause from what I hear, you don't earn... BTW, the volty-line is sub-35% now... do you understand the concept of gains from vega? The original delta position of the trade was 12.2k when I got the entire 400 off... NOT 20k. arb. and I'm 37yo
The -20k delta I was estimating from over $68 a share. That what it was. After the stock came in your delta bought back about 12k delta. Why am I even talking to you? This is ridiculous. Oh and let me get this straight. you graduated from under grad at age 22, spent 7 years in medical school to age 29, you had your own medical practice, lets say 5 years to age 34, you spent 7 years at the cboe to age 41, one year at the cbot to age 42 and you said you have been off the floor for 5 years to age 47. My math must be really off or you are lying through your teeth. And by the way, if you read that smart money article you would have known that I was never long any leaps. Can you even read you illiterate jerk? And oh yeah, I am really ashamed of that article. I was in f*cking college for christ sake with a full load of classes and had $300 to my name and turned it into $220,000. Yeah I feel really bad about that. Sure I lost some of it, must have been around the time I was cramming for finals you jerk. Please stop saying this is your last post, show me some follow through on your promises.
Undergrand at 16, out by 19, ask around -- and if you want proof, come on down to Eugenie and I'll show you my transcripts. I thought it was $10k initital stake in the SM article... I didn't post your name, sweetheart. And if you don't want ppl to post that sh*t, then quit bragging about it, 'kay? ... Begs the question, then why are you broke? Bye Bye~ arb.
Turning $10K into $220K is pretty damn impressive. Even if you ended with $80K, that's still a huge return on the initial $10K, plus you probably learned a lot. -Fast
