short fear

  1. ok, so there were a bunch of signs that a local top was in place, and today validated that with an early drop. But, for the shorts, I have to say I have lingering painful memories of PPT rescues with enormous short squeeze volume by EOD, whenever the market was on the precipice of a black hole. For the last several years, shorting has been like touching a burning flame for me, it could go in your favor for a day or two, and then the dreaded impulse squeeze, prefereably (to the mms) on negative news.

How do shorts get over this fear? And also, I recall putting in stops were futile as the market squeezed upwards so quickly, the execution was horrible.

Am i the only one who has developed squeezophobia in the last couple of years?

If you're scared of shorting why not think about buying puts instead. At least you can define your max risk.
