So you want to penalize 100's of millions over those few nut cases? The same nut cases which laugh at and will completely ignore all laws limits and bans? You'll need to explain the "logic" of that one.
There are tens of millions of gun owners and a few "nut cases." You're suggesting that we punish tens of millions of people in order to stop a few nut cases. Should we take everybody's cars away from them to stop drunk drivers from killing 10,000 people a year? A detective that I sometimes shoot with told me that if you're not in a gang or affiliated with gangs or involved in drugs or other criminal activity, your chances of being killed by a bullet are close to zero. Most gun homicides are criminals killing other criminals. On the other hand, an average of 192 innocent people get killed by drunk drivers every week. That's a much bigger problem. Should we take away all cars and limit people to one bicycle?
I have nothing but respect for your ability in aviation, Lukie. It'd take a little too much time for me to explain the psychology and effects of crime and punishment. You can't make every man mind, but you can damn sure make most of them mind. Naw, no naivety going on here. You're just gonna have to trust me on this.
No, we tighten the noose around the necks of those two or three, and thin the herd by two or three. Guess I really should have been born a century ago... I do apologize in advance for answering a question meant for Tom. I'm just using old common sense to fix newer problems.
So, there's nothing that can be done? We just have to accept Colorado, Wisconsin, and Texas tragic killings every few days?
We accept over 800 people killed by drunk drivers each and every month. It's rare that anyone ever says a word about it.
Unless I missed something you're not even talking about crime and punishment. You're suggesting an arbitrary limit of one handgun and one long gun per person as if it's going to stop mass shootings. I don't need a psychology degree to state unequivocally that will simply not make any difference nor will it stop shootings like the one today or last month in Aurora. AGAIN it only takes ONE gun to commit a gun crime and the ones committing these crimes don't follow the current laws. What makes you think they'll abide by your gun limits? MOST of them ALREADY do mind. And what's worse is that your "plan" penalizes NO ONE but the ones that are ALREADY minding. NO I don't. Try again.
We can publicly execute the perpetrators. Immediately after they're convicted. The bleeding hearts of the world though oppose the notion of swift justice at every turn.
