  5. As I asked over and over and over and over again in the last few years: "When are the republicans going to do a real investigation on Letitia James and Jack Smith?"

Looks like from a documentation point of view they have the "receipts" on her too. So I expect her to come along later today or this week and say "my accountant handled all the documentation, and maybe I should have reviewed it more carefully but there was no intent on my part."

Yeh, we know how that tart rolls.

Seeing that the mortgage application on the 4 unit dwelling has already been fully investigated and details outlined in depth in the media -- it's pretty clear that Trump is just chasing a nothing-burger in retribution for Letitia's investigations.

Once again, let's outline the facts. At the time Letitia James purchased the dwelling and put in the mortgage application it was 4 units. Over a long period of time one the units in the building had switched back-and-forth between being one unit (a merger of two) or two separate units that were rented out. Thus at various times the building was either four units or five units. Something that is very common in the NYC rental scene. All of this was documented over time with NYC construction, utility, and inspection documents as work was done of the building.

That must be quite a house if Letitia James was somehow endangering the stability of the lending system. Fancy.

But here's the core issue: there's a difference between going a few miles over the speed limit and doing a hundred in a school zone at noon. Context matters. Scale matters.

Sure, there's still a ticket to pay. Some kind of consequence.

And if she is genuinely exposed to this, you’re not going to see Democrats weeping into their wine glasses. "Lawfare" cuts both ways, but don’t pretend the scale is the same.

  10. It was the housing agency that made the referral to the DOJ - rather than Trump- wasn't it?
