Example, a wife who is being miss treated by her husband could always refer to the local authorities and courts to get her rights. SECRET courts imposing draconian Islamic justice are operating across Britain. Last night politicians and religious leaders expressed outrage that sharia law is gaining an increasing foothold in our society. The hardline Islamic law allows people to be stoned to death, beheaded or have their limbs amputated. Yesterday experts insisted the Government had already allowed elements of sharia law to be introduced. The Treasury has brought in measures including interest-free loans and mortgages which comply with the Islamic law. But it was also alleged unofficial criminal courts are meting out their own justice. The scandal was outlined on BBC Radio 4's Law in Action programme which uncovered evidence that Muslims are using their own laws here. Youth worker Aydarus Yusuf, 29, told how he helped convene an unofficial court which uses Somalian law. He said a hearing was held in Woolwich, South-east London, after a group of youths were arrested on suspicion of attacking another Somali teenager. The victim's family told police the matter would be settled out of court and the suspects were freed on bail. He insisted he is more bound by the law of his country of birth than British justice, adding: "Somalis, wherever we live in the world, have our own law." Dr Patrick Sookhdeo of the Institute for the Study of Islam and Christianity said: "Sharia courts now operate in most larger cities, with different sectarian and ethnic groups operating their own courts that cater to their specific needs according to their tradition. "The Government has not been straight about this. It has it's own sharia advisers and it has already introduced measures that are compliant with sharia law. "Muslim communities are creating their own infrastructure based on sharia law. A Muslim community can now function within its own society on every level." A SHOCKING report today exposes the grip Islamic law now has on British society. Honour killings, polygamy, child marriages and mutilation are revealed in the study by Islam expert Dr Patrick Sookhdeo, director of the Institute for the Study of Islam and Christianity. Sure. Low level dispute resolution is a traditional thing, and the concept of dialogue and mediation by religious figures is well intrenched in much arab culture. Trouble is , its still a fuedal approach, when the same person ruling on the fair adjistment of a donkey is also able to sanction, or direct shocking crimes as punishment for practically anything. Besides, so long as its written they have a moral obligation to take over the world and kill unbeleivers, freedom of religion is preposterous.

We can argue endlessly about this. I can understand that religious muslims want their religious traditions respected and would rather have disputes settled in accordance with them than by a court system that has no relevance to them. It is equally clear to me that a society starts down a slippery slope indeed when it starts letting groups opt out of the judicial and legal structure that everyone else is required to be part of. There is one obvious solution. Stop allowing muslims to immigrate to western countries. Gradually send back the ones who are here on visas. Cease the much-abused practice of granting refugee status to those from countries who could not immigrate here legally. If muslims do not want to be part of western societies, and it is becoming abundantly clear they do not, why should we allow them to come here and inevitably create problems? Do we have to have riots like France or killings over cartoons and such before it becomes obvious?
You may, born in Britain, recently residing in NZ. I was brought up in a town that has a large muslim community so i do know of them, believe or not i even went to school with a few. They're probably in pakistan now, training as we speak. The muslim community have never tried to intergrate into British society.
How if he was a Muslim American form an Arab or African or Asian or Eastern European back ground, would you still wish that he leaves if he does not like to CONFORM with your Western ways??
