why would you consider it good to fear an imaginary invisible man in the sky? to me having a mind free of superstitious fears is ideal. i would hate to go through life thinking there is some invisible dude watching me.

ah. the old pascals wager argument. one doesnt have to be much of a thinker to see the flaws in that argument. maybe i can help you out. 1. pascal was a catholic. he thinking only allowed for two possibilities. catholic or nothing. if you arent catholic sucks to be you. 2. since there have been thousands of gods imagined throughout history are you sure you have picked the right one? if not sucks to be you. 3. maybe god is a trickster. maybe he values intellectual honesty above blind faith. maybe he is hiding as a test. maybe he will reject those who act like sheep. then it sucks to be you.
I posted this once before. God is a conservative, i.e., survival of the fittest. Jesus was a liberal, i.e., sermon on the mount.
