  2. Ya know P, honestly I have no clue. I don't live in the state anymore. I rarely keep up with the state news minutia. I do know that there are tons and tons of good people there who are appalled by the immigration issue. I do know that our national borders are a federal issue...and they've been ignored for 50 years. The feds busting Medical Pot Shops and ignoring illegals is disgusting.

But IMO...it's waaaaaaay too late. There's no reversing this situation now. That's exactly why neighboring states like Arizona and Nevada have such population growth.

edit: However for every bad story there is a good one....our housekeeper for example. She jumped the fence in 1980 from Guatemala. Now she's worked for us 19 years, she's an American citizen, she pays her taxes and she has a 720 FICA score.

Zhivodka I am disappointed in you - for every bad story there are TEN good ones.

Immigrants, on average, work harder, are smarter, more ambitious, and more moral than natives. By definition, only people with some guts and initiative migrate. They have to be motivated by ambition over security and familiarity, otherwise they'd never leave. America was founded by immigrants, after all.

As for the flaws of SF, yes it is too socialist by far, but no place is perfect. Someone can go to SF and fuck who they want, where they want, and how they want, and won't be in danger of going to jail for breaking some stupid law against blowjobs or anal. Try doing that in the bible belt, where even dating someone with a slightly different skin shade is enough to get you socially ostracised. In SF you won't get 20 years for buying a joint for your friends. Funny how so many people who demand economic liberty refuse to grant liberty to others whose social and lifestyle preferences they don't share. How is some conservative gay-basher different to a union soak-the-rich type? They both want to control other people and infringe their rights. Fuck those little hitlers.

  4. You've never been in the U.S. have you?

A gay would be far safer in Atlanta than in a Mexican 'hood in L.A.

I had a good chuckle from this ... but then it hit me ...

Is this political satire about how us right-wing lunatics view the world?

Fortunately, "Streisand Speaks" caught my eye and gave me ample reassurance.

I know many Indians. chinesse, europeons, asian who followed the rules and now run companies, invent medicines, have good FICA scores.

I can find thousands more if we stopped the fence hopping.
