Server-based automated trading

Discussion in 'Automated Trading' started by options777, Aug 13, 2007.

  1. I currently trade at a firm but am looking to experiment with my own system ideas on the side. It's low frequency, 3-5 trades per day. I'm looking to implement it in forex first. Does anyone know any kind of server-based service that could run my strategy during the day? I suppose I could just run my computer during the day but I'm hesitant to trust it. I'm sure there are a lot out there that host HF/algo trading but I'm assuming they cost an arm and a leg. I'm looking for something more reasonable. Thanks.

If you have your own coded program, you can just get a hosted server (vitual dedicated for around 30+/month or dedicated for about 100+/month) to run your program 24/5. If you can run it on your computer, your can run it on one of these. I use a offsite server for my trading. It's not necessarily automated, but I prefer the reliability of the server over the worksation (office/home).
