I took and passed the 56 and I thought it was not so bad. Yes, there are some questions and terms i never heard of but all in all i was expecting a much harder test. I used the Pass Perfect Study material and if you read the chapters and concentrate on the pratice tests you should be able to pass. Many questions were very similar to the study questions. I thought the test was more like a scaled down series 7. I invested about 40 hours of study time now i can back to work again.
I took the series 56 for the 2nd time and failed it. I actually did worse than my first test, so this is quite embarrassing. I read the book quite carefully and went over the updated materials on the cboe website. But when I took it, there were a lot of questions that just weren't familiar or I forgot. Any advice on how to pass this? Should I fork over the $150 and get pass perfect?
Yes, you should absolutely buy the material and study it relentlessly. I would not have had a prayer to pass the thing without it. I was happy with the material and put in well over 100 hours studying. i passed with an 80%, but was guessing on quite a few questions even with this guide. However, i believe it is the best thing out there and if you study it very dilegently and take all the practice questions available at the end of each chapter as well as take all the tests at the back of the packet, you will have a great chance of passing. You need to understand though that you need to make this studying a minor obsession. Get the book, work real hard, pass and get this thing over with!!
I passed today with an 88. Second try. If anyone is interested in my study materials let me know via email. I have everything you need. Pass perfect, study guides, CBOE manual, practice tests. 150.00 gets you everything. If not, good luck.
Question...my friend just took the Series 7 and the paper on top said "Passed" with 182 correct. He is concerned because on the bottom where it breaks down the sections it came out to 179 correct of 250. I took my S7 in 1987 on slate so I am of no help. Any explanations.
Been a while for me too, LOL. But 70% is the number. 70 x 250 = 175 to pass. All you need is the "holy" "Pass" - Good luck... Don
I'm taking the series 56 this Friday for the 3rd time and am going through pass perfect. The practice exams are pretty damm hard. I got a 62 on the first 2 full-length exams. F*ck!
