Anyone have any experience taking the Series 3? Just wondering what courses/materials are good ways of preparing for it.
Brandonf, thanks for your suggestion. Will look into it. fyi, for some reason, the people at Amazon seem to disagree ... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/079312865X/102-1391948-4488956?v=glance
The Center's test prep material is all you need to ace the Series 3 test. I took it Oct 2002 and passed it with flying colors.
Not according to the NFA. On your fingerprint cards the section is indicated under "Firm Name" and address field. Plus your 7R or 8R (I've forgotton which one) form must be filled out and your firm location must also be filled out completely. Nobody takes the Series 3 without first registering with a member firm and/or the NFA as an associated person. Series 3 or 7 is no different. YOU MUST BE SPONSORED! check out the NFA website for more info. p.s. I apologize. I just had a conversation with our compliance dept and the catch 22 is that you don't need to be sponsored to take the exam but you must be sponsored in order to get licensed. MY BAD.
