Probably protected his poll numbers against Trump too.

Too bad Tulsi Gabbard was not at this debate. She would have schooled all these liberal Democrat clowns on their policy positions and made them look real silly and stupid at the same time! Of course, the socialists and communists will not have a patriot embarassing them on national TV!

  3. That i why it was a murder suicide, he tried to take out his opponent and ended up killing himself through faulty execution. Like when Christie went after Rubio and took them both out. I don't think he took out Biden but he created more attacks to come against him.

This was not a very good debate, substantively. I don’t think too much movement is likely to result from it with the exception of Harris, she may see a bump.

Biden is Biden at this point. He is where the party on whole is on issues but stammers like a mofo and gets too tripped up on his words. He did smack Bernie/Warren from the outset and that set the tone going through the night for those two. Warren shrunk.

Obviously Castro stepped on his own feet but Biden’s people are seriously failing him because the obvious answer whenever Castro attacks Biden for something during the Obama administration is, well golly Jillian you were part of the same administration if you felt so strongly about the deportations or whatever why didn’t you express yourself to Obama or resign? And that would put an end to Castro’s hitman attacks, which are really Warren attacks.

Anyway, a blah debate. Too many people and too long.

  5. I think he bungled the immigration question to asked by Jorge. Simple answer was to say the deportations were people under the law who were required to be deported so it is called following the law and lead into a statement on being tough on immigration but reforming current system to be more fair blah blah blah...

I said Hillary had shit staff because she lost an election that started off as hers to lose and the mistakes were blatant and you could chalk that up to her team. Joe seems to be falling into same trap.

They seem to think he can walk into the nomination but his team needs to be world class at this point.

It’s really a quandary when considering Biden in context of Trump beating Clinton and especially considering the debates and what impact they have.

Historically, a lot of people attribute JFK beating Nixon to the debates and no one has looked back since. But Clinton beat the hell out of Trump in every debate and lead Trump all the way until about 3 weeks before the election then Wikileaks and the reopening of the email investigation happened and boom Clinton dropped like a rock from outside factors.

So I’m torn on these debates. Biden has had 2 bad debates and stood up throughout. Just some thoughts but I would be careful in terms of comparisons and weight of debate performances.

  7. And then there is the factoid that doing well and being an leader early in the election cycle is almost the kiss of death. So it helps to do well ......except when it doesnt.

I look at polls but am not limited to that.

Joe is too far gone to be nominated and was too far gone thirty years ago and voters will either see that again, or for some , the first time.

Warren comports herself as one who is able to take the fight to the enemy and has survived and learned from earlier disasters. I give considerable weight to that factor, and the polls do a bit. If they don't, well then I do.

Keep in mind that I see that Warren is wall-to-wall problems too. But the field is set in my mind so who do have to work with? Reality has set in.

Dem leadership knows that they cannot nominate any of the socialist/communist fools running and so will push Biden as far as they can towards the nomination. He's a leftist as well but is perceived as less scary than Lizzie Worden and the rest so Biden is the nominee.

I’m neither here nor there with this. This is all still fluid to me.

To me Warren did not do herself any favors last night but Kamala did. She cleaned up her heathcare stance a little and did not attack Biden, but instead went after Trump. She and her team are learning that Biden supporters are Harris supporters. That’s where i see the most room. If Harris moves more to the center and says things like she did last night to the effect of I would like Medicare for all but that’s not where the people are, she can move up.

  10. Alright well, we see it differently.

I think Kamala kept herself highly visible which is not easy with that many on the stage but it only highlighted that she is sort of the giddy airhead. No gravitas there whatsoever. If she pops up in the poll a bit as she did a while back before that fizzed, that's fine. Long run she is a dead clown walking for the top slot.

I think that Biden absolutely did herself a world of good last night but as I said the polls are not everything to me so it may or may not be reflected in the poll. There are times when a breakeven trade or not taking a trade at all are the best trades. She absolutely did not lose any ground but if she did not gain anything but just laid low and let the shiite happen around her, that keeps her solvent for future action. Her numbers are incrementing in the right direction and she absolutely needs to avoid doing stupid high risk stuff just to try to push her luck- as the hoi polloi are doing there. She surrounded by handlers and supporters egging her on to do that. Just resisting that makes her smarter than I am comfortable with. She is working to a strategy both nationally and in the early states and has a ground game. When Joe's number stop ticking down and hers stop ticking up, then she can consider making high-risk moves. But she does not need to right now, and she knows that. She saw that Kamala only got a short one-time buzz when she hit Joe. She saw the Castro Boy disgrace himself. And she has stayed out of it. Indian girl smart.
