The argument is getting absurd. I'm not from Sri Lanka but are you saying they are so helpless as they cannot go to a Bitcoin ATM, withdraw cash and buy food and supplies to bring to their family? They are not in lockdown or prison like situations in certain places in Shanghai
John you missed my point, if there is no food crypto and cash are useless. If food can be bought, both will work fine.
I'm only aware of the financial system problems they're having I was chatting with a friend who has family members there and he said that the situation is getting worse, not better. For obvious reasons, I did not mention Bitcoin or cryptos for him to use. He knows about my Bitcoin involvement so he'll ask for help if wants to go that route
The main thing that Bitcoin solves here is that there are no intermediaries. The sender and receiver cannot be censored. There is no dependence on a central authority, only 3 mining pools ;-) But, really, very cool.
That's Bitcoin Lightning Network, instant, and very low fees, even as low as less than 1 cent, and no Bitcoin miners needed I really wish all of ET would experience the joys of running a full Bitcoin and LN full node and having a few hundred $ worth of btc on non-custodial wallets so everyone can see how revolutionary this shit is, but I don't think it will ever happen Maybe when Bitcoin is worth over $1M each within 10 years, ET bitcoin critics will finally join the fun
Oh, come on! Instead of making an actually working crypto (takes probably less than an hour) why don't we put another convoluted technology that still doesn't work properly on the top of it? Sometimes with an old house it is easier to just raze it and build a new one from scratch. Anyone who argues against this is a technology hater cultist in it for the money only.
I'm sure you did not miss this news last week, did you? Let me ask you, when are McDonalds, Walmart, Starbucks, Chipotle, Whole Foods, CVS, etc, going to accept Litecoin and Nano? lmao
