Why should "care about serving and satisfying our own needs" make us "inherently evil"? That is actually a theory that all governments use to justify giving them power, to "keep in check all those evil evil people" that inhabit this world. And that, disregarding the fact that government is made by people too.
People are not evil. Their will to get rich and satisfy their own needs has given the world the greatest advances of mankind... Only idiots would think that planes, computers, cars, and every "luxury" that we have today available to a huge number of people came from minds of people who were thinking of "the greater good" or some nonesense like that. The people who invented this things were motivated by the selfish desire to get rich and make their lives better.
IMHO thoughts like that are extremely dangerous...
Aside from trading, there is only one way someone can get LEGALLY rich in this world: by producing something that others are willing to buy. That means that to satisfy one's own desire to get rich, you must produce something that has value to others, so that they are willing to give you money for it. This is what holds a free society together.
But if you give power artificially to someone, power that is enforced by FORCE(government), that I completely agree that will make almost anyone inherently evil. People tend to see rich people as "evil", but there are two kinds of rich: the one's that became rich by trade, business, with no help from government and the one that became rich because they were in government or got help from it. The second group, I agree, they're what you describe as "evil", the first group is actually the group that most people in this world owe a lot.
So, the solution: less government power. That will make people in general better.:)
It still won't be perfect and shit will happen, it's not a perfect world after all... But it'll be much better and completely based on selfishness...:D

Surely Hollywood must bear some responsibility for raising the levels of violence around the world.
I see a new "King of Violence" Bruce Willis film is due soon. That should raise the temperature somewhat. Even here in the UK there are Westerns on every night. As much as I dislike censorship, there may be no other choice.

The Gun Lobby will trot out their usual foul money making spiel and so it spirals upwards.

Perhaps crazy Kim will bring America back to its senses ?

  3. What if this was a false flag event orchestrated by our government... to advance a political agenda?

(If there is some draconian legislation "ready to be passed by Congress" brought up in the next 2-4 weeks, that will be a clue. RE... The Patriot Act)

Hitler laid the blame for the loss of WW1 on the Jews. Do you think Trump may be about to blame some group or other ? The Mexicans perhaps ? Free guns for the under 12s ? Free all the dangerous lunatics and prisoners ?

Yes, it makes a strong case for totalitarianism if the overwhelming majority are this way inclined.

If all of that were true, I think they would have used a muslim immigrant for the false flag.

  9. "lawrence-lugar said:
    I believe every human being is inherently evil;
We just mainly care about serving and satisfying our own needs, screw everything and everyone else. at any cost."

This was proved long ago here on ET, by simply reading the posts purporting trading advice

  10. Here's what I think. If every TRump hater took themselves out, the world would be a much better place.
