Even if your statements about Trump and Musk were hypothetically true, the field is not and should not "be level." Both Trump and Musk are citizens. The Hamas-Humpers status is just temporary subject to further conditions and approval for longer term residence/citizenship. We reject applicants everyday and wish we could toss some citizens out too who also hate the country but it does not work that way here or in Canada either.
I confess I haven't seen the videos. But, based on an interview I saw this morning on TV with an ACLU lawyer, my understanding is that no charges have been leveled yet, even though he has been detained for about a week. Again, I'm not specifically defending the guy; I just don't see the same response towards the Nazi sympathizers who march the streets.
You don't need charges to deport someone on a visa or green card. Never had, never will. Support of banned terrorist organizations is more than enough reason for deportation.
You have the right to "free speech". You don't have the right to speech without consequences. Especially when you are only in the United States with the permission of the federal government.
Taking funding from a designated terrorist group and shouting "Kill the Jews" while you march around campus is hate speech.
I have adequately addressed that. Hamas Humper is entitled to free speech and has gotten it. And with that free speech and freedom of movement and freedom of association he has said and done things that disqualify him for permanent residency or citizenship. Also as discussed, he has a scheduled hearing before an immigration judge later this month and if he has valid defenses, then go for it. The government gets to have a say too. America is a country with a massive number of civil rights that have to be met when incarcerating someone so he might get out short term. Long term though, if the government says he is an undesirable or a risk, he will be deported. He has no right to be here. So I expect him to achieve a short term victory or two on some immediate procedural issues. But it does not change the long term outcome. Bye bye to him. If he wants to drag it out in court for years, then fine. Move him to Gitmo for that period.
