Yes, I do. Thank you for asking. The point is, they were not merely saving face after being sandbagged, as most of the intelligent but loyal Republicans are invariably doing in the case of Palin. (Their not-so-intelligent Republican brethren, however, chew and swallow as they are told and believe they're eating chocolate.)
Gringinho: Please don't misunderstand what I said and don't take me out of context. What I believe is that our human logic is dualistic, as is this whole universe, but true religion takes us out of that limitation and guides us to the one truth inside us. But, perhaps we've beaten this topic to its logical conclusion for this thread and forum - let's go back to joking about politics, OK?
I think Hillary Clinton would disagree with you. In fact, when Obama loses in November, she'll start to play the 'I told you so' card. - Spydertrader
Sure, no hard feelings. It's just that you said you disagreed on the basis of science, mathematical logic and religious views... I took your word for it and wanted to see what your foundation and knowledge of science and especially mathematical knowledge; I have a special interest in "model theory" which was one of the deeper subjects I studied at university. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_theory I understand people are not always aware of many of the scientific and philosophical aspects of reality, the universe etc. Like you, many people read your bibles, and stop there - not looking for any more answers or more science - but obeying the commandments and call for obedience in your religion. This is fundamentally different to how I think and experience the universe. I price my personal freedom - both philosophically and intellectually - to expand on my knowledge and not impose limits to what I might learn. Good luck, though...
You are missing my point. Obama was "vetted" and endorsed by Democrats in the fullness of time. Palin was dropped on the nodding Republicans' heads. Surely you can spot the difference. In any event, I don't think Obama and Palin should be compared. In fact, it was someone else who initiated the comparison between the two earlier in this thread. Obama should be compared to McCain, and Biden should be compared to Palin.
Your 'vetting process' doesn't pass the laugh test. Michigan and Florida certainly would disagree with you - as they did not have full participation in the process. Certainly those who claimed 'every vote counts' during the 2000 election would demand the very same this time around, yet somehow, Florida and Michigan didn't participate in the 'vetting' process. Had the these two states done so, I suspect Obama's inability to win the large electoral states would have placed Hillary on top at the end of the primary season Of course, we will be able to test this theory in 8 short weeks. And you can bet Hillary is counting on things playing out exactly as she once described. Mac wins come November as a result of two important reasons. 1. The Democrats failed to nominate their most electable candiate 2. The Average Voter can (and I'll quote the Obama Campaign here), "Make history with their vote." They just don't have to vote for Obama to do it. - Spydertrader
This will go down in history as the worst pick in presidential politics unless you equate running for the most powerful office in the world the same as casting an actress for a commercial film. IF McBush wants a highly qualified candidate to stand next to him. One that is ready to lead this country should he need to step down due to medical issues then he failed miserably. If he cares about himself, image and being elected at any cost and selected this charlatan cover girl in the the same or similar manner a director might employ an actress with box office potential only to increase revenue for a new film.... then he succeeded. The trouble with the latter scenario is that McBush is not casting a film and rather than putting Country First he demonstrated contempt for his fellow citizens! The question that will be answered this election is whether the American dumbed-down electorate is discerning enough, despite labels like liberal or conservative, to see the biger picture and make the best decision out of two non-perfect choices.... and elect Obama/Biden after suffering through 8 years of a prior dumbed-down republican administration!! It should be a no-brainer for any person with an IQ over 85. If anyone can seriously deny what I have described they need to go sit in a corner and stare at a dark wall for a couple days until the delusion passes.
who's god? Yours...mine...or theirs Actually some pretty thoughtful comments over all in this thread...as far as "vetting" is concerned when will Ms Palin be "ready for prime time". IN OUR HISTORY...NO VP has been sequestered from the public this long. She needs to get out of the kitchen and into the fire and answer the questions the public wants to know to help make up their minds. And by that I mean her POLICY stands not her personal/private life.
