Senate GOP has chance to make a stand : Block auto bailout

  1. Spot on, brother.

It's idiotic to not to try and save the U.S. automakers and the millions of jobs going along with them, when the cost of doing so is about twice what Goldman Sachs will pay out in bonuses (courtesy of U.S. taxpayers and the 'bailout') this year.

If I were an advisor to Obama, I'd recommend doing whatever it takes to prop up GM, Ford and Chrysler, but I'd bring the hammer down on the unions, allowing their wage/benefit packages to be brought in competitive line with what the foreign automakers pay their makers in the southern U.S. plants (Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, BMW, MB, etc.).

  2. The CEO's and the unions need to take one for the company - and that includes Wall St CEO's. To make it fair across the board for taking bailout money, everybody takes a comparable downward adjustment.

  3. Wallet

    Wallet

I heard today that GM was the biggest purchaser of Viagra in the US, to the tune of 17 Million per year, ( yes I know it's talk show radio ), but that doesn't take away from the fact............ seriously, the auto makes and the huge amount of folks who depend upon them and the subsidiary companies that provide outside parts and services need help, but it needs a massive overhaul from top exec's to the unions to make it work, anything else comes off as political favoritism.

Yes that goes for wall street too.

Where does it end, American Express asking for 3B???? I wonder if they will agree to drop their interest rates to their customers to gain financial backing????

    Bailouts.............. Bullshit.

It's never ending, we all are Fuc%$d
