So I will stick with this strategy as long as the S&P keeps making new highs. Never tried the bands as you mentioned...they might work great as well. Chris BTW, still holding my remaining positions looking for a test of the 1065.50 area...I will patiently wait.
Great trading so far this week. Especially on the Saddam play. Are you getting spooked yet with your current position or still short?
No sir! Still holding 60% of my original position, and I will re-ADD (for the 40% that I previously covered) to the overall position during any pushes above 1075. Still holding as I feel we will test the 1065.50 area soon. Good Fortunes! Chris
Perhaps you may want to consider liquidating your shorts here if yesterday's low is not taken out today and/or we fail to close below yesterday's low. just a thought.
My gut and intuition tell me otherwise...I will improvise, adapt, and overcome to whatever the market brings. Chris
AMT, thanks for posting. I am curious if you use similar parameters for your long ES trades, but in reversal?
Funny feeling that not too many people are short here, especially in the Nasdaq -- that surge in the SOX names couldn't even get the NDX to double-digit positive.
I do to some extent the same thing with a LONG position trade, but I prefer to carry SHORTS overnight at these S&P highs. My feeling is it would take a heck of a lot more to Gap up 20 pts in the overnight session (at new S&P highs) than it would to Gap down...just my belief, that is all. Also, with the world we live in now I always feel more comfortable holding SHORTS overnight than LONGS...just my comfort level. Hope this helps! I am still holding all my SHORT positions (1086 and 1087.50 entries) and I decided to not ADD as the price ran North in the last part of the day...I will attempt to ADD at the 1077 area or above in the overnight session or at the open if we get any push. I am attempting to rebuild this SHORT Position Trade back to the 100% level I had early Monday (covered 40% of the original Position Trade after the drop on Monday). I will see how things go in the overnight and decide if I should ADD or not...this is a type of trading style that requires much patience and continual evaluation...that is how I will proceed. Good Fortunes! Chris BTW, I added several more signals that I use at times for entries to my chart page today. Go to www.ttrader.com ...click on mycharts at the lower right and then scroll to CK Charts and click. Great DIVergence signal caught the LONG at the end of day today.
Chris: I'm puzzled. How do you go long on this type of signal if you're holding a short position? OldTrader
