My guess is Ivanovich even loses money paper trading........

Thebestguru ever...or whatever his name is, will be a great trader long before Ivanovich gravitates to losing real money.

  3. I will never be a great trader. Why? I really ONLY sell the ES, almost never buy.

This has hurt me many, many times.

only contracts I have bought is bonds, but that is usually because I think the ES is going down.

I just "think" for the first time in 14 years I half 'get it' and for ME the best way to trade is have a wide stop, give it plenty of time, leave it over night, over the weekend, etc...and trade very little.

here is the problem. if my next trade is a loser for say 30-ES points or 15k then the average usually isn't great. I know what you're thinking....don't risk as much on the next one. tried that, failed worse.

tough game, but i'm glad this one is working out nicely.

    Guru,

Looks like an impulsve down off the highs so more downside should come. A take profit here would be a R/R of 1:1. Where are you moving your stop to? Are you keeping with your original plan?

  5. Right now my stop is at 930. I thought the market would finish positive today (after i saw the open), but since it might not do that this trade should continue to work the next few days.

I'm definitely going to try to wait until 780.

The key to me is a test of Dow 8,000. If, say the dow closes under 8,000, then fails to close under for the second day, i will likely take off half.

if the dow closes under 8,000 and then keeps selling off, i will move my stop to say 898ish (will have to look at charts).

    FYI,

I read a post today stating that Glen Neely has stated the entire bear rally is over, and predicting a move down to 700's, if not lower.

I think you need to try different time frames, stops to see what works.

  7. Holding pattern. I hope the S&P doesn't close above 920 tomorrow or else it might hit the stop at break-even.

i really thinking holding positions overnight and over the weekend actually makes sense.

my next trade will be 5 contracts, then i will add 5 at xxx , then have 10 at breakeven. if stopped out for loss, will only be for 5 contracts.

i don't care about timeframes and all that stuff.

makes it too micro and either i over-trade or over-think, both bad for me (and maybe me only).

  8. Aw shucks, Janes. You are way too modest for a public message board warrior. Any trader like you who routinely makes $40,000 per month is what most people around these parts here would call a great trader.

Heck, $40,000 per month x 12 months equals, let me see... (pulling off shoes and socks for higher math...)

Why that's $480,000.00 per year, give or take a couple of quataloons. You really are the king guru, aren't you? Just like you told me a month ago.

  9. enjoy my new thread.

why are gurus so upset when other traders make exponentially more and don't charge to teach?

    show 5 year audited results.

sorry about your recent days of losses in your chat room.
