Bonnie Fwank then backs him up and says that doesnt even include homeland security.

Guess these 2 uber geniuses think the defense budget, including homeland security is more than 1.6 trillion per year.

  2. The budget does not technically include Medicare and Medicaid, as they are funded, in theory at least, by a locked box outside the Treasury. Entitlement spending in these two programs is about 1.5 bil. The 42% is probably correct as the portion of defense spending outlays by the Treasury.

So your sarcasm is misplaced but your point about defense's share of total Federal outlays is accurate, if that's what you meant.

First of all, because of Harry Reid we haven't had a federal budget for the last 3 years although it is a legal requirement of the House and Senate so there is no way to compare defense spending to a budget. A budget doesn't exist.

But, if you look at federal revenues that have fluctuated between 15% and 20% of GDP the last 60 years with a median of 18% you can use that number as a proxy for government spending (even though we know the dems have spent about $1 Trillion in addition to revenues each year.)

But figures from various sources online show that defense spending is around 4% of GDP. That is about 22% of revenues. After approximating a budget with an additional $1 Trillion in spending the percent of defense spending is somewhere below 20% of what the actual budget might look like and near a historic low.

It seems these two liberal buffoons don't have a clue what they are talking about, as to be expected.

Nice work clouseau. even with entitlement spending gone (which is a lame excuse) the defense budget doesnt even come close to 42%

Take 1.5 trillion off 3.8 trillion and you are left at 2.3 trillion, so please feel free to tell me how defense spending equals 42% of your ridiculous number, I guess the defense budget is a trillion dollars a year under your number, and according to Bonnie Fwank that 1 trillion doesnt even include homeland security...... so between the 2 its supposedly a couple hundred billion more. That puts their fictitious number at 1.2 trillion.

The real defense budget is roughly 700 billion, so your only off by 50% I hope to god you dont trade for a living.

And this under their beloved Obama administration? Or are they still blaming Bush?

  6. What Is Discretionary Spending?:

Discretionary spending is that part of the U.S. Federal Budget that is negotiated between the President and Congress each year as part of the budget process. It includes everything that is not in the mandatory budget, which are programs required by law to provide certain benefits, such as Social Security and Medicare. (See Federal Budget - Mandatory Spending)
What Was Proposed in the FY 2013 Discretionary Budget?:

Discretionary spending in the FY 2013 budget was slashed to $1.264 trillion. The request for military spending was lowered to $851 billion. This includes the Defense Department, Overseas Contingency Operations and other defense-related departments like Homeland Security and the State Department.

So 67% of discretionary spending is for the military.

What is your most important issue for this election? Taxes, economy, deficit, seem to be a popular concern................... and it all relates to a ridiculously, absurdly, insanely, stupidly, bloated defense dept.

The majority of the citizens, having no idea how much it costs say " Yeah, the USA must be able to kick serious ass. Rah rah, go team. We must be able to destroy the Muslim enemy and leave a smoking crater in the ME." .........They really have no idea how much they pay for it and they are usually brain-dead righties.

We don't have to raise taxes or cut social services. We just need to cut the military budget.

  7. The tape was from 2009 douchebag, and the budget excluding entitlements was about 1.4 billion then. Asswipe.

yo dipshit, the income tax was instituted to pay for the military, not to have the government wipe your ass.

and secondly dipshit, we still get taxed for entitlements as well, so stop pretending they don't count
