Self-driving cars take another step backward...

  1. So an uber car kills an idiot that didn't look both ways before crossing the road and ran infront of it going 60 mph. Any driver would have done the same. I guess it's one way to weed out idiots from the human gene pool. Anyone else care to give it a go?

There is already a ground swell against AI and automation. In Holland the dockers are rioting over lost jobs on the docks in Rotterdam.
It will get worse as more jobs are lost. Nobody has got a solution to how these new jobless are expected to pay their bills.

Interesting ideas about funding the unemployed.
It could be associated with some community work to bump up the monthly hand out by a few hundred dollars.
Some years ago Rockefeller used to give 10% of his income to the local church to distribute to the poor. Not a bad idea.

    People need to work. Period.
If you provide food and shelter for nothing you better also provide drugs, booze, and high quality virtual reality porn to keep them inside. And even with all that there'll still be trouble. It just goes against nature to have life-forms doing absolutely nothing. And if you think a little community service to bump the monthly a tad will motivate them, you are sorely mistaken.
    Its not natural.

What the heck is high-quality virtual reality porn? I have been thinking it is getting a tasty spring roll from Trader Joe's for $0.90 a pop. That's like 2 bux off the local Chinese restaurant price. Dude, we need to party.
