I'm assuming the fund would just use Linkedin or their own network to look for candidates that qualified and directly make a job pitch to those candidates to steal them away from whatever current job they have.

A fund like that obviously would be working from some financial district in the world. It's a position they should be able to fill fairly quickly from within their own financial district or contacts to others in another financial district.

Oh wait, that's exactly how Millenium has found their past Senior Portfolio Managers. :D

Yes, I just posted the image from LinkedIn. The position seems to have been filled.

probably filled with a foreigner they had in mind. They post the job to show that they tried to hire an American first.

normally such a role would be filled through a headhunter if it were an actual mandate.

not proof of anything - actually silly: that could be any ad by anyone for any fund posted at any time - not just you for yours.

  5. I’ve seen this one, it’s for the head of macro at the B fund. The guy in question is a Brit so you’re spot on.

That is an interesting job posting as they want you to come to the firm with your alpha generating strategy that has made 100 million. But to be hired with your strategy, that means you would have to own the IP, thus you are not currently a hired gun, therefor, why would you join this firm? What am I missing here?

  8. The way I read that was, they're not necessarily looking to acquire the actual model/alpha, it's a measure of post doctoral/masters experience and competency. Basically, if you just did your STEM dissertation, don't bother. The pay/bonuses must be through the roof though. If you've already carved in 100m of p/l you know you got paid, leaving that would require a uuuuge golden carrot.

Think they'd be impressed with my single contract ES trades? Granny will vouch for me...
