But not much has changed ... screen trading still requires many of the same skills as being on floor .... you just dont need to do physical combat every day..............................................................
Actually they don't. Much of floor trading is real estate (location location location) and order flow. I have been around both for 25 years and I can safely tell you that many if not most floor traders have a hard time going to the screen. I don't know many that have gone the other direction. nitro
I agree that real estate matters on floor .... but many successful floor traders have transitioned to screens. .... its not too often that a very good floor trader cant move to an electronic platform and be sucessful..... the best people seem to be able to handle it .... although not without a bit of pain....
what kind of position should i seek at a bank? do you think it would be possible to get an entry position right now without having majored in econ/finance and not having any experience? if not, what could i do to make myself appealing to these banks such that they would hire me
