Let's see what I do understand - One, you don't know who OP works for so you are making statements of fact when you are at best guessing. Second, even if his company were monitoring cellular traffic (of which there are many bands and types) how would they associate specific traffic with the OP? Third, since many smartphones are constantly using the data network in the background there is no way they can know the time he spent looking at it because network activity does not always correlate with time spent using the device. So yes, I do know you are full of shit.
It depends on the job he has, and how much worth he is for his company. If he is not the best, then he shouldnt do anything to risk his excistence safety/his only job. My last normal job, was in a callcenter, selling bullshit to people around the world and i was the best one in it, i had the best result of all. Thats why nobody cared about my laptop which was all the day on my desk, online, and everybody knew it that i trades all the time, beside selling shit to people on the phone. So it depends on your job situation. Dont be stupid and risk anything, in the end you ve no job and will end homeless - so far all for "trading" ??? Thats not worth it....
+1. To the poster who said his company is going to monitor traffic, here's an actual scenario for you: say 100 people work for a company and they all have smartphones. further assume they all check email on their phone. does the company assume every employee is trading and plan to fire them? no. to the op and others pls don't hesitate to use a smartphone to place and monitor trades.
If you switch on the wi-fi on you laptop you will see all active networks. There are network scanners in the market that measure the traffic over those networks. There are devices that track how many mobile telephones are active in a closed space. There are also devices that are sold for security purposes that can even listen to the traffic. Apparently you are not aware of these facts. I am not saying his company is using these measures but he is risking a lot looking at charts while at work.
No one is talking about wifi here (except you) Its pretty clear you don't understand the difference in the different cellular networks including 3G and 4G data networks. Still waiting for you to back up your other claims about knowing how much wireless traffic the OP generated and how much time he spent looking at it. So its your contention that some Fortune 150 corporation is illegally eavesdropping and decrypting cellular traffic? Uh huh. Please provide one iota of evidence to back-up your claim. Yes, actually that is exactly what you said in no uncertain terms, lest you forget:
Its only legal for cellular phone companies and gov't law enforcement agencies to monitor cell phone activity. And even then law enforcement requires a warrant, though in this day and age the big boys are probably getting around that. Businesses can not easily monitor cell phone activity as its encrypted. In theory they could probably monitor the number of active cell phones in a location, but most businesses who are this paranoid would just prohibit the use of cell phones and/or jam them (like some restaurants do, illegally I might add) and/or block communication via building/room construction material. It would be much easier for businesses to monitor cell phone use by video monitoring or personnel looking over your shoulder.
if a poster is an idiot, I'm not going to name names here and cause trouble, but let's say the name had "intraday" and "bill" in it... would it not be a good idea to 1) not quote them to protect the hearts and minds of the rest of us 2) put them on ignore I'm just sayin'...
A key logger will be based off the network and no doubt password protected. Hack into it and disable it
