Hi, What sectors has liquid options? Tech sector has NDX and QQQ which have decent options liquidity. What other sectors have good options trading volume so that fills can be good?
Strange question as option liquidity isn’t categorized by sectors. And NDX options don’t have much volume. You can use any option scanner/screener from any broker to find stocks with high option volume. Or https://research.investors.com/options-center/reports/option-volume
https://www.barchart.com/options/options-screener filter for the volume you want. Also I would think the largest companies in about every industry will have liquid options.
https://www.sectorspdr.com/sectorspdr/ probably has the most liquidity for options and underlying. You avoid overlapping components by going with this single fund complex. These make great performance benchmarks as well.
Wsb/reddit stocks. On certain days, they might even give AAPL or TSLA a run for the money. (Volume wise.)
I trade a lot of the SPDR sector ETF options and without a doubt the 2 most liquid is XLF & XLK. XRT & XLV are pretty liquid too. The worst are the housing & transports (XHB & IYT). XLE is very liquid but the XOP isn't liquid at all. Of course I only but naked calls & puts.
