This prayer used to work if offered along with this one: "Dear God, if you can just get me out of this, I'll never ever EVER do that again, AND I promise to [exercise every day, quit smoking, quit drinking, quit throwing my keyboard at the dog, go to church every week for the rest of my life]." The reason these prayers no longer work is because right after God got a trader out of the mess, the trader would give a huge sigh of relief, hit the local bar for a cigar and bourbon, skip church that Sunday to watch the big game, look at the pre-market action early Monday, say, "Damn, lookit how high it's tradin', I'm gonna short this one full on, don't even need a stop, it'll never go higher than X!" then throw the keyboard at the dog after losing the entire month's profits.
