"IMO" - what exactly qualifies your opinion? This set of changes has been in the works since 2003 and will not fully take place for another 5 years. Note that US accounting standards aren't exactly stable - major revisions happen ever few years and minor changes almost every year. Accountants keep themselves up to date on the latest changes. The change from US standards to the international standard isn't a super significant one (again, most of the rules are very similiar or exactly the same). The accountants simply update themselves as they have always done.

But I don't think there's any point in telling you this isn't there? You believe there's a conspiracy of sort - so no amount of reason can prove otherwise.

  2. Just as an aside point.....this is a fantastic development in that more legal uniformity will be needed in order to establish a more universal worldwide exchange.....

Actually, changing the name label on a security transaction should cost next to nothing via portable direct access technology....

One may wake up one day finding that the actual center of domicile for the universal worldwide exchange will not be domiciled in the US....

Computer banks can be anywhere.....and in fact if the US does not make allowances , listings will gravitate towards efficiency....

The legal costs, and other forms of legal largesse are becoming a nightmare for many, and many companies will find plenty of money and attention somewhere else....

Companies like BATS will bring transactions down and capture market share just like they did in the US versus the NYSE in record time....

Just a necessary step along the way.....
