  1. What about other exchanges? SEC doesn't control every exchange in the entire world right?

I really wish I didn't have such a vested interest in the markets, in this country, cause it would be really nice to kick back and enjoy the *shit* show as it unfolds in this country.

I am in awe of how ignorant, corrupt and ill-informed our politicians have become.

  4. only a fool would not see the wisdom in this.

we have many of those here on et.

market order should come with a tube of k-y jelly, which many here already have in wholesale supply for other reasons.

SEC may just ban trading altogether.
SEC will make stop=loss orders ILLEGAL! 2 years in prison for stop-loss

    no selling only buy...no refunds.

market makers can refuse to honor small market orders. etc

What is with all these dark markets? an anonymous trading etc. wtf..the stock market is just like teh baseball or comic book market.

The SEC should do it's job or mandate of the agency like regulating against INVESTMENT FRAUD or MARKET FRAUD...clearly the SEC and gov't has FAILED!

    From the OP's article...
"These orders were not the cause of the flash crash per se, but they resulted in enormous damage to many unsuspecting traditional investors," they wrote.
    ---

There are several things the SEC says the average retail investor should exercise caution with, due to the inherent risks... included in them are:

    options
    leveraged ETFs

If an investor wants to participate, they sign this form a says they willingly take the risk... why would the SEC force everyone to give up on stop-loss altogether?

The SEC could require anyone who wants to exercise a stop-loss to sign some form by a certain date... otherwise your existing orders get canceled.
