SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

  1. MOJO is geared towards a younger (than me) audience. They have extreme sports programming, a guy that goes to different pubs, favourite ballparks, etc. It's fine for their target audience.
I still watch WSW. Just my opinion, but wasn't it a bit pretentious to drive a Ferrari to a business meeting? I'm getting old, maybe.

They're clearly going after a younger audience this season.

Boiler room was just on a few weeks ago so it was interesting to see a similar operation on this show. Why aren't these guys pumping SNDK in jail? Or is this a normal cold calling routine? Then again I guess anyone who falls for this nonsense kind of deserves to get what's coming to them.

I believe it was Mark Twain who said, "Be thankful for the fools, but for them the rest of us could not succeed."

And yes, davidmaria1, I thought the same about the guy driving the Ferrari. He may be successful but clearly disrespectful and immature. But in his defense, he was running late to the meeting so maybe he needed the extra horsepower to get there more quickly. That fact that he was running late is another sign of disrespect and immaturity. I see a theme, but the guy is apparently making money so hey who am I to say he's doing something wrong. If I had a Ferrari like that, I'd probably want to show it off too.

By the way, the picture clarity of MOJO really looks great on the HDTV.

  3. Laetitia (the rookie) is decently attractive. I like.

  4. I agree..but in the episode I think I detected a mustache. I hope it was just bad lighting.

This 2nd season is actually pretty bad:

    - guys cold calling clients with a stock idea that is way down by the time of showing the episode

    - business student applying for a basic trader job (all that education money could have been wasted in the market and gaining experience)

    - businessman is going to Cairo, but the most important part is his helicopter ride to the airport

    - female cottontrader in the pit but we don't learn anything really how she makes her decissions or whose money she is trading with

So far this is just a random hodge-podge of different Wall Street characters. Of course the girl was going to get the job, otherwise there is no series....

  7. I don't know...I'm sort of enjoying it so far. Eps 2 was good..the cotton pit seems pretty cool. Sounds like its only weeks away from fully "E" though. Everytime I see open outcry I get excited.

i've GOT to ask - how the hell did that happen on a naz stock?

i actually remember being long xybr and xybr's warrants during part of the bubble for a quick trade. later, when i got wiser, every time that company was pumped, i'd be on it ready to short..
