  2. I think someone told them 2022 is out if they keep up the trump dick stroking and playing down a virus killing off their unvaxed voters.

After everything Ron DeSantis did to kill as many people as possible in Florida from COVID -- including hiding the data, lying about the data, and not allowing a proper public health response. It is interesting to see DeSantis and his fellow Republican COVID-deniers suddenly start to harp on vaccination this week. Are they scared of losing the majority of their voters?

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' Recommendation On The COVID-19 Vaccine Is Turning Heads
    https://www.thelist.com/467510/flor...9-vaccine-is-turning-heads/?zsource=smartnews

It wasn't too long ago — just over a week, in fact — that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis commissioned a range of merchandise that took aim at infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci. The products — which included drink koozies and T-shirts reading, "Don't Fauci My Florida"– came as the state experienced increasing rates of COVID-19 cases and deaths (via Yahoo).

But with Florida now accounting for 20% of all new COVID infections in the U.S. (via CBS-Miami), DeSantis appears to have decided to take a stand regarding the vaccine — and its one an anti-vaxx base may not want to hear. "If you're vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero," he said Wednesday (via The Hill). "If you look at people that are admitted to hospitals, over 95% of them, are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all. And so these vaccines are saving lives. They're reducing mortality."

Twitter was flabbergasted by DeSantis' shift

DeSantis' about face took Twitter by surprise, and many are now asking why the GOP's more senior voices, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, are aggressively pushing for vaccinations to take place. Incredulous voices on social media include opinion columnist and author Tim O'Brien, who wrote, "DeSantis — who signed a bill outlawing vaccine passports, blames 'experts' for public distrust of vaccines, sells 'Don't Fauci My Florida' merch, and was hesitant to disclose his own vaccination — wants you to know 'vaccines are saving lives.'"

"Someone must have pictures of all the GOPers or something. Hannity, McConnell, DeSantis all pushing the vaccine this week after months of nothing. Very odd," mused one Twitter user.

Another wrote, "I don't know why so many in the conservative media lately have been pushing so hard for vaccines — even harder than for medical freedom. Hannity, Shapiro, McConnell, even DeSantis, etc. Seems a bit sus."

This Twitter user had a theory, writing, "When even Ron Desantis is now pushing vaccines, rather that fighting against every business and entity that has been encouraging them, you know they are afraid the Delta surge among the unvaccinated is going to crush them in 2022."

  4. 4 million people... or 4 million people eligible to get vaccinated? Big difference but I guess facts don't matter.

Simple search shows that about 540,000 people in NYC are listed as under the age of 5 years old. I am sure under the age of 12 would be almost double that amount. None of them eligible for vaccines. So let's assume that number is about 1.5 million who cannot get the vaccine.

If we take them out of the total population we have about 2.5 million unvaxxed out of 8.3 million citizens of NYC.

That means about 70% of eligible people are vaccinated. Just q quick review of the facts but lets get real data.

If I go to the Dept of Health, the statistics reported for NYC having at least one dose is 60%. Manhatten specifically is 66% vaccinated. At least one does is 71%.

Vermont has more cows than people so that is kind of a silly comparison, NYC has way more logistics to overcome and way more people to vaccinate and only so much time per day to do it.

At the end of the day it all boils down to elections for politicians so that’s a given. I think the numbers coming out of Texas are not helping the case for dismissing vaccinations too.

The two items are separate. It's fine to recommend the vaccine. This has nothing to do with being forced to take it and forced to prove it. Your analysis is woefully inept here and you've no clue about what liberty means.

    Where is the Flip-Flop meme...

Hannity Makes Vax Stance ‘Very Clear’: ‘I Never Told Anyone to Get a Vaccine!’

The Fox News star, apparently incensed over the plaudits he’d recently received from liberals over his seeming endorsement of vaccines, set the record straight on Thursday night.

Fox News star Sean Hannity was very angry on Thursday night over the plaudits he received from liberals and mainstream media outlets for seemingly endorsing the COVID-19 vaccines this week, making it “very clear” that he “never told anyone to get a vaccine.”

Amid a noticeable shift in much—but definitely not all—of Fox News’ coverage in recent days towards a more pro-vaccine stance, complete with a new PSA featuring anchors urging viewers to get their shots, Hannity delivered a message on Tuesday night imploring his audience to “please take COVID seriously.”

“And it absolutely makes sense for many Americans to get vaccinated,” the pro-Trump host added on Tuesday. “I believe in science, I believe in the science of vaccination.”

Hannity’s remarks quickly went viral as they were seen as part of a concerted effort by many conservatives to encourage vaccine-hesitant Republicans to get immunized as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations surge among the unvaccinated. The fact of the matter is, though, that Hannity had made similar remarks in the past and his Tuesday night commentary was bookended by criticism of universities mandating vaccines and a sympathetic interview with a college student who refuses to get vaccinated.

On Thursday night, Hannity wanted to set the record straight. Which, naturally, included him railing against the “media mob” for giving him credit for encouraging his millions of viewers to get a shot.

“These reports are all false for multiple reasons,” he blared while reading off a list of headlines touting his supposed pro-vaccine stance.

After insisting that he touted Operation Warp Speed from the beginning and stating that he’s always praised the efforts of scientists to get the vaccines on the market, Hannity clarified where he stood on vaccinations.

“I never told anyone to get a vaccine,” the conservative host proclaimed. “I have been very clear. I am simply not qualified.”

He added: “I am not a medical doctor. I know nothing about your medical history or your current medical condition. I think it’s inappropriate for me to do so. Instead, for over a year now I have been warning my viewers, you make my career possible.”

While Hannity’s lack of medical credentials apparently prevents him from urging people to get a vaccine, it hasn’t stopped him from regularly diagnosing President Joe Biden from afar with dementia and cognitive mental decline. In fact, just before this segment, Hannity and his panel openly speculated that Biden “will either resign from office in the near future for medical issues or they will have to use the 25th amendment to get rid” of him.

Hannity would go on and say that he’s always “said to take COVID-19 seriously and do your own research” and that viewers should “consult your doctor and medical professionals you trust.” He also once again grumbled that the “corrupt media” had taken his previous comments out of context.

“I respect people’s decisions at the end of the day,” Hannity concluded. “They have to make it based on research and science and on their unique medical condition.”
